12/31/2008 10:06:00 AM
SummaCare, Inc. has completed an agreement to add Southwest General Health Center to its network of providers for its line of Commercial products. Effective Jan. 1, 2009, the agreement will provide SummaCare Commercial members with access to more than 200 physicians with privileges at Southwest General facilities.
“The addition of Southwest General to our network of providers is significant because it means greater access to care for our members,” said SummaCare President Marty Hauser. “When coupled with our already existing comprehensive provider network, our members will have peace of mind knowing that their healthcare needs will be covered and that they will continue to receive treatment from the very best caregivers in Northeast Ohio.”
Earlier this year, SummaCare was recognized by U.S. News & World Report/National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as the highest ranked plan in Ohio for both its Commercial and Medicare products in the survey of “America’s Best Health Plans 2008.” This is the fourth consecutive year that the Akron-based health plan has received recognition.
