AKRON, Ohio, September 1, 2022—SummaCare announced today the launch of Lift Up Local, an annual mentorship program designed to help small Ohio businesses succeed through improved marketing support and guidance. The program will select a new Ohio business to be mentored by SummaCare and Knox Marketing to identify business goals and recalibrate their marketing materials to maximize overall visibility within the Ohio business community.
The program initially began as what was intended to be a one-time mentorship project to celebrate SummaCare’s Medicare Advantage 25th anniversary and thank the community for its continued support. Safety Training Group USA (STGUSA) – a small business dedicated to preventing workplace tragedies through proper safety training – was selected and today has a new logo, rebranded and optimized website and social media pages as well as a new direct mail piece / informative brochure. Following its work with STGUSA, SummaCare made the decision to formalize the program.
Businesses selected to participate in the Lift Up Local mentorship program will receive one-on-one marketing support, which could include some or all of the following: logo development, website design, social media strategy and development of promotional collateral.

SummaCare is already accepting candidate applications for the 2023 Lift Up Local Business of the Year. Ohio businesses may learn more about the Lift Up Local Business of the Year requirements, submit their application and more at SummaCare | Lift Up Local. The application cutoff date for 2023 is December 31, 2022; any applications received after that date will automatically be entered into the 2024 application pool.
