  • SummaCare’s Medicare Retention Rate last year was 97 percent, compared to the national average of 88 percent.
  • 60 percent of members contacted Member Services in the past year and rated the experience overwhelmingly positive. In fact, 99 percent said the representative was “courteous and friendly” and 97 percent said the representative was “knowledgeable and helpful.”

Medicare Advantage plans

SummaCare’s has a variety of Medicare Advantage plans* offering medical, prescription drugs, dental and other coverage designed to meet a variety of health and budget needs. We go beyond basic Medicare, adding to that coverage money-saving extras such as coverage for prescription drugs, dental, vision, hearing aids, over-the-counter medications, gym memberships, rides to your doctor and more. Some plans cost as little as $0 a month.

Individual and Family plans

SummaCare offers insurance options for individuals and families who do not have access to group coverage, don’t yet qualify for Medicare or make too much money to qualify for Medicaid.

Our Individual and Family health plans offer access to quality providers and top hospitals, comprehensive medical and pharmacy benefits, certain free preventative services, access to telehealth visits, value-added health and wellness programs, including Assist America global emergency services, health coaching, gym memberships and more.

Employer plans

To attract and retain the talent necessary to keep a competitive advantage, employers need to offer more benefits relevant to today’s workforce.

That’s why SummaCare offers a wide variety of both fully insured and self-funded commercial plans to meet the needs of businesses—large and small. Our health plans include comprehensive medical and prescription drug benefits, value-added services, programs and discounts at no additional cost to employers or employees.

In addition, our health plans offer condition management programs for members with chronic conditions, wellness services, from 24-hour nurse lines to health coaching to preventative screenings. Employers also can add ancillary services, such as Life and Accidental Death insurance and Health Spending Accounts.

What’s more, SummaCare offers a variety of provider networks to choose from, such as our SCPremier Network and The Preferred Choice Network, which include Cleveland Clinic Akron General, to help minimize employee out-of-pocket costs.

SummaCare is an HMO and HMO-POS plan with a Medicare contract. Enrollment in SummaCare depends on contract renewal. Every year Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-star rating system. SummaCare’s Medicare Advantage Plans have been recognized with 5-Star (out of 5) rating for 2023 by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS). From October 1 through March 31, a representative will be available to take your call from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., seven days a week. From April 1 through September 30, a representative will be available to take your call from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
