Providers

Closures — SummaCare Utilization Management, Appeals & Grievances and Provider Support Services are closed on the following days:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Day After Thanksgiving (PSS)
  • Christmas

Limited Hours — SummaCare Utilization Management, Appeals & Grievances and Provider Support Services have limited hours on the following days:

The business day directly before a holiday, precertification requests will be accepted until 3 p.m.

  • Christmas Eve precertification requests will be accepted until 1 p.m.
  • New Year’s Eve precertification requests will be accepted until 1 p.m.
  • On Call is available on Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve for emergency inpatient/Part B requests only.

For weekend holidays, SummaCare will observe Saturday holidays on Fridays and observe Sunday holidays on Mondays.
