SummaCare offers a range of plan options designed to meet the needs of individuals and families looking for health insurance.
Plan categories are based on how you and the plan share your health care costs. Generally, plans in categories with lower premiums pay less of your total costs. Categories with higher premiums usually pay more. All plans cover at least the same set of essential health benefits. Categories have nothing to do with the quality of care.
You want a low-cost way to protect yourself from worst-case medical scenarios, like serious sickness or injury. Your monthly premium will be low, but you’ll have to pay for most routine care yourself.
You’re willing to pay a slightly higher monthly premium than Bronze to have more of your routine care covered. If you qualify for cost-sharing reduction, you must pick a Silver plan to get the extra savings.
You’re willing to pay more each month to have more costs covered when you get medical treatment. If you access care frequently, a Gold plan could be a good value.
Available for people under 30 or with people over 30 who have certain exemptions. Catastrophic health insurance plans have low monthly premiums and very high deductibles. They may be an affordable way to protect yourself from worst-case scenarios, like a serious illness or injury but you pay most routine medical expenses yourself. Not available with premium tax credit, also called a subsidy.
