Papa: Hang Out and Help Out

Papa pairs older adults and families with Papa Pals for companionship and assistance with everyday tasks. Get help around the house, including light housework, a ride to the doctor’s office, pharmacy (or anywhere around town), help with errands or simply have some to talk to. When a Papa Pal supports a SummaCare Medicare Advantage member, they’re also offering relief and respite to caregivers who need it. Papa Pals is not available on the Topaz (HMO) or Quartz (HMO) plans.

Papa Pals are individuals who can assist with a wide range of activities, including:

• Companionship: Your Papa Pal can visit with you, watch a movie and play board games.
• House Help: Your Papa Pal can do some light cleaning, laundry, cooking/meal prep and pet care.
• Grocery Shopping & Delivery: Your Papa Pal can pick you up at your home, take you to and from the store and help you carry your shopping bags into your home.  
• Technology: Your Papa Pal can teach you how to use a computer, smart phone and tablet; assist you with how to use social media, access your Telehealth provider and help you start a video chat with your loved ones.

Papa Pals are enthusiastic and compassionate, undergo a strict vetting process, are subjected to background checks and are covered by liability insurance.
