4-5 Star Rating for 2020

SummaCare’s Medicare Advantage Plan Maintains 4.5-Star Rating by CMS

AKRON, Ohio, October 11, 2019 – SummaCare’s Medicare Advantage plan has again been recognized with a 4.5-Star (out of 5) overall rating for 2020 by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This is the third straight year SummaCare has attained a 4.5-Star rating and underscores the company’s commitment to providing quality products and services to its Medicare members.

The annual quality ratings help consumers determine how well a health plan is performing in areas such as:

  • How satisfied members are with the health plan
  • How effective the health plan assists its providers in prevention and detection of illnesses
  • How well the health plan maintains the overall well-being of its members
  • How quickly the health plan responds to the members’ needs in regard to receiving care and addressing members’ concerns, including appeals

“We are thrilled to once again have our Medicare rating remain very strong at 4.5 Stars for 2020,” said Dr. Charles A. Zonfa, SummaCare chief medical officer & vice president, network development and contracting. “This honor directly reflects our unwavering commitment to outstanding customer service.”
