AKRON, Ohio, August 3, 2021 – SummaCare has announced that Cleveland Clinic is joining its extensive Medicare Advantage provider network effective August 1. Under terms of the agreement, SummaCare Medicare members will have access to approximately 6,000 Cleveland Clinic physicians and providers across all northeast Ohio locations including Cleveland Clinic Akron General.
The addition of Cleveland Clinic Akron General means members will have access to both of Akron’s Level 1 adult trauma centers. In total, SummaCare’s Medicare Advantage network will now be comprised of more than 22,000 providers and more than 75 hospitals throughout 31 counties in Ohio.

Existing SummaCare Medicare members will have access to Cleveland Clinic providers and facilities beginning August 1. In addition, the annual enrollment period for 2022 Medicare coverage will run from Oct. 15, 2021 through Dec. 7, 2021.
This year SummaCare earned a 4-Star Quality Rating (out of 5) from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services based on its performance in key areas such as customer service, wellness, disease management and responsiveness. In addition, 96 percent of members renew each year.
