Lake Health Announcement

Lake Health joins SummaCare Medicare Network

AKRON, Ohio, October 1, 2019 – SummaCare announced today that Lake Health has joined its Medicare network effective August 1, 2019. SummaCare Medicare Advantage plan enrollees now have in-network coverage at Lake Health’s 11 facilities, including its two Lake County hospitals:

  • TriPoint Medical Center
  • Lake West Medical Center

“The expansion of our Medicare network is a top priority, and the addition of Lake Health underscores our commitment to provide our members with increased access to a wide range of quality providers,” said SummaCare President Dennis Pijor. “We will continue to look at additional opportunities for growth of the network to ensure that our members continue to have the flexibility and peace of mind they deserve when seeking care for their medical needs.”

Lake Health has been serving Lake County as the community hospital for more than 100 years. It is the largest provider in Ohio’s 11th most populated county. By teaming up with SummaCare, Lake Health is expanding access to more patients in Lake County and surrounding communities.

“Our number one priority has always been to provide local access and superior health care to those who live in and around Lake County,” said Cynthia Moore-Hardy, FACHE, president and CEO of Lake Health. “This agreement extends our commitment to expand access to more of our community members.”

The agreement now provides individuals enrolled in SummaCare access to the entire Lake Health Physician Group, which includes more than 150 physicians. For specific information on physicians in the SummaCare Medicare network, visit and click on “Find Your Doctor.”
