SummaCare Medicare Advantage Network now includes Cuyahoga County’s three largest health systems
AKRON, Ohio, October 10, 2023 – SummaCare has announced that The MetroHealth System joined its extensive Medicare Advantage provider network effective August 1, 2023. Under terms of the agreement, SummaCare Medicare members now have access to more than 600 MetroHealth providers across their more than 40 northern Ohio locations.
Founded in 1837, MetroHealth operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers and 40 additional sites throughout Cuyahoga County. This partnership grows SummaCare’s Medicare Advantage network to more than 22,000 providers and more than 75 hospitals throughout 33 counties in Ohio.
“We’re excited that SummaCare’s Medicare Advantage provider network is growing in 2023 thanks to the addition of The MetroHealth System and its providers,” said Bill Epling, SummaCare president. “This partnership will help both organizations continue our shared mission—assisting fellow Ohioans achieve optimal health. We look forward to the opportunities this partnership will create and the additional choice it gives our Medicare Advantage members regarding where they are able to seek care.”
